Pickup on 9/4 will be at Francis C. Hammond MS, Alexandria, at the fields behind the school.  10am.

Park behind the school, and walk uphill to the left side of the parking lot.  Look for the gravel path (on the opposite side of the fence of the roller hockey rink).  The path is a short walk through the woods to our fields.

NEWSFLASH!!! LEAGUE INFO!!!

Last night we conducted the Season 9 Captains’ Meeting.  8 people were in attendance representing 7 teams.  We voted on several issues, here is the vital information for this season!

NOVAFFL CAPTAINS MEETING MINUTES

Teams represented at meeting: (7) Get Some, Loose Cannons, No Namers, Syndicate, Foxchase, Rams, Jabroneys.

S9: Begins play Saturday, September 11th, 8:30a.m.

FIELDS: We are returning to last season’s fields behind Francis C. Hammond MS.

FIELD HOTLINE: Has changed to 703-746-5596

PLAY: Will be an 8 week regular season, with playoffs and championship occurring in 1 day on the 9th week of play.  A buffer will be built into the schedule for rain cancellations.  Cancelled games will be moved to the end of the schedule.  Example: If week 2 is cancelled because of rain, week 2 games will be moved to the end of the schedule, and week 3 games will be played according to the original week 3 schedule.

CHANGE: We have been given an additional hour at no charge.  If necessary, cancelled games early in the schedule might be added onto the last hour of play in later weeks.  For example, if we experience rain cancellation weeks 1-3, week 2 or 3′s games might be added into the extra hour of play in week 7 or 8, allowing all games to be made up.

Team Dues: Because of an unalterable increase in field cost (discovered late this week), and because NoVAFFL spent more than it received last season, and because NoVAFFL is trying to improve the quality of the league, it was discussed, voted upon, and unanimously agreed that the cost of the league this season for returning teams shall be $500. (FYI – For a 20 man roster, this is $25 per player.  For a 15 man roster, this is $35 per player).

Season 9 Captains’ Meeting

The Captain’s Meeting for Season 9 will be Thursday, August 26th, 7pm.  This is for captains of returning teams, and captains of potential new teams.

Captains of returning teams may turn in their payment of $425 at this time (but this is not the deadline).

We will hand out team packets, discuss any changes and pertinent information, and adress questions and concerns.

LOCATION: Foxchase Media Center – 320 N. Jordan St, Alexandria, VA 22304

DIRECTIONS: From 395, exit Duke St. east.  Turn LEFT on N. Jordan St (immediately after Shops of Foxchase which has a Wachovia by the street).  After turning LEFT on N. Jordan St, you will cross an intersection at Raleigh.  Then before you reach the stoplight at Taney Ave, you will see a building on your left with a long blue awning.  This is the location of the meeting.  Park along either N. Jordan St or Taney Ave.  Do not park in the parking lots that branch off of the streets.

Once the captains’ meeting has concluded, we’ll be able to release more information about Season 9 to the general public.
